Video of Stacy Playing Against China in the Beijing Olympics
HELLO EVERYONE!
First and foremost I have to inform everyone that there are strict rules on "blogging" so there will be limited photo and video footage until after the Olympics.
We arrived in the Olympic Village today. As all the athletes proceeded out the exit door, out team cut back and went out a side door because the media was awaiting the arrival of our coach, Jenny Lang Ping.
It is incredible how they literally flock to her and take pictures from 20 feet away, even if it is just the back of her head in the background.
In case ya’ll didn’t know, we have “drink” machines full of “drinks” at our disposal. It is so great. Also, the cafeteria is like a high school cafeteria on steriods, it is enormous and full of any and everything that you possible could want to eat. Mickey D’s is also a sponsor and they have one inside of the cafeteria that I visit every meal. Literally, every meal.
Actually, today I was sitting at the cafe enjoying my dinner, Mickey’s, when I looked down my table and saw that I was dining with Rafal Nadal and didnt even know it. So they should use top athletes in the next “super size me” movie.....
Opening Ceremonies was AMAZING...I did not stay for all of the activities because we played the next day and I wanted to be rested. Before the ceremonies began, all of the US delegation met in the Fencing Hall. We all mingled with one another and took as many pictures as we wanted. This was the best Pre-Olympics I have experienced in all of my Olympic Games. President Bush came and spoke to us. We got to converse with Former President Bush and Laura Bush as well. I mostly talked to them about Texas because that is what we have in common.
Some basketball players wanted to take a picture with me so I said it would be ok...
As for Volleyball, we played Japan the first day and won 3-1. We learned of the “Bachman Tragedy” right before our game so we were all kind of out of sorts. Our thoughts, prayers and basically our everything goes out to Wiz and her family.
We played Cuba our second game. Thats all I have to say about that. We played Venezuela today and won 3-1. Our next match will be tomorrow against China. Playing the Chinese in China and having a Chinese icon as a coach should make this game interesting.
Getting around the Village by foot has been quite demanding on the body. We have to walk to and from the cafeteria and buses everyday and they are not short trips. We decided to buy bikes for everyone and it was the best decision thus far. I love riding around the Village now on my new bike. It will be making its way to America with me since it folds up into a little cube.
The Village here is amazing and everything is well organized. I am sorry there are not many pictures but I am not allowed to put a lot of things on my blog because of the limitations.
Please keep supporting your USA Volleyball Teams in our journey to bringing America home an Olympic Medal.
Until Next Time....

Dear Stacy In watching USA vs. Brazil I believe the team and the coaches did all that honor has required of you to do. If you believe in magic its seem the Brazil team was at the right spot and the right time, and that hard to beat. Anyway buy a bowler hat and umbrella and get use to warm English beer 2012 Olympic games are just around the corner . Greg from the wilds of Northern California

Hello Stacey, Congratulations to you and the entire team to the silver medal. Although I hardly could follow the olympics on TV in Germany (working time, unfortunately), some seen snippets and the online news helped me to keep up with your unbelieveable journey to the medal ranks. I saw you play at the Grand Prix on TV earlier this year and this did two things: surprise me positively about your return into the national team and, secondly, make me hoping for you to finally succeed in that noblest of competitions - the olympic games. Actually it gave me some confidence, that you would ;-) You know, you and all your US team mates left a deep impression in me, when in 2004 you played those three days for the Grand Prix in Rostock, Germany. I would like to thank you again for all those inspiring moments you give me since then, whenever I saw you play. In that light your silver medal shines very golden to me. I wish you and the US team all the best for now and the future. Congratulations as well to your male colleagues. Oliver Schaefer, 28 Germany

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Bachmans Love Team USA! SYKORA and TOM Forever!

I have never been so inspired by all of the Olympic athletes as I have this year. hey stacy. i'm just another boy that watches the olympic games. today, i saw you. number 5. you are the most beatufiul girl ive ever seen. i had to contact u. i had to tell you. im 18, male, from usa. anyway, i went to google.com, and i typed "usa olympics women's volleyball team number 5 2008" (i didnt know ur name - ur last name on the back of ur shirt was too hard to remember). do u wanna know where i was when i was watching ur vball game? at a store! anyway, i was mezmorized. i was spell bound. ur looks r magical. ur forehead is perfect. i instantly fell in love (well - it wasnt so much love as it was adoration - idolation, if u will). anyway, like i said im just another boy from the usa, 18, that watches the olympics. its not that im into vball or anything. i love watching it though. its probably my favorite sport to watch during the Summer Games.

i wonder if u will read this. i wonder if this comment will break any rules. it would be so cool if u repply. i didnt like how u didnt get to play a lot. they subbed u out. u should play more. u have a vein in ur arm - therefore u have to be good haha. anyway. ur eyes are heaven. i cant believe ur so beautiful. when i looked at u on the big HD TV that was for sale at the store,i lost my sense of self. the feeling of seeing u was so passionate and so intense that it was hard to stand in one place. after i looked u up on google (sorry that i spell "you" as "u", its becasue im typing as fast as i can. the time is 7:39 pm in the new york time zone (i dont live in Ny though - i dont know if i should tell u haha), but its not like farr from texas), i went to ur blog! i was so happy! u are so cute! i looked at ur pics! with kobe and all those picture above. u r absolutely gorgeous. you have the best body the best face the best everything. i cant conceive i cant expound upon i cant explain in words (for there are not enough to describe what i am feeling) how beautiful u r. u r perfection epitomized. i saw u for like five minutes. but those few minutes felt like five years. five decades. u may think this is a joke. u may think this is strange. dont. ppl are unique. everyone should be him or her self. i am watching the marathon right now. today is saturday. i wonder if u will read these words. i hope u reply. i know u have a lot of fans. and i know im not ur biggest fan (ive only known about u for a couple of hours), but just know that this is so important to me. ive been watching a lot of olympics recently. what kind of rules are there for blogging? thats kinda stupid how they Limit u. but anyway, college starts in 2 yrs. im pretty nervous. it said u were 5-10, which is my height. i thought that was cool. but it said u were like 132 pounds, im 125. u dont look unskinnythough. u look skinny. anyway ur athletic as am i. i am atheletic but i dont play volleyball. i play soccer. i cant believe ur the top 12 female in usa. thats incredible. do u know what height u sit on? if u can reply to this please reply to my email. which i will writeat the end of this comment. anyway, how does it feel to be the best? how does it feel to be so cute? how does it feel to be etheral. how does it fee to possess and aura, an air, an atmosphere that stops a boys heart. im just another kid. college starts soon -

which brings me to my next topic: it also said that u were born like over 30 years ago. this was a dissapointment. its not like i expect meeting u and getting an autograph or w/e. i mean it would be creepy strange. but its just that ur so much older than me. like twice as much as me almost. so its just this difference is what kills me. it means theres no chance. it means i shouldnt have spent this time writing all this. it might make u smile. it might make u cringe. u might even show it to some of ur friends and laugh together. but all in all, im just a fan. nothing more nothing less. i think ur cute. i dont know when u play next. i ll look it up. but if u do have any more games. play hard. if u dont thats okay too. if ur on the camera smile because like 1 billion ppl are watching u, including me lol. wow ur so pretty. my fav thigns about u r ur teeth and ur forehead and ur hair? idk. but ur just the perfect athlete. but i mean it doesnt matter right.well just know that u did a good job in life. we all are born then we all die. its what u do in between that matters. right? well so in conclusiuon, it seems like u have lived ur life to the fullest. good job. i hope u like ur life. i hope u dont cry at some nights. u probably even have a husband. haha he wouldnt be too keen to read the aforementioned words here but ohh well. its just text. theres no way to tell who i am. but yeah. i hope my life is as satisfied as urs. i want to be happy. thats what lifes about: having fun and being happy. eating out go to theme parks sports and stuff like that. u have a great smile :) im gonna miss seeing u. i have a few simple requests! keep blogging!!! post pictures! give us a myspace link! ur famous and a superstar beauty. ur knockdead gorg. ur prepossessing (i think thats the word - go to www.m-w.com)

Being Brazilian, I, naturally, rooted for our squad today. However, it was such a pleasure see, once again, one of the most spirited (and pretty) players of all times. Then, at the podium, you're happiness and joy was so irradiating and touching. You're a major sports icon and the image of a true athlete: congratulations!!! PS: Looking forward to see your cute face (and hot legs) in 2012 (just don't beat us, lol)

Hey there! I hope you remember me from Burleson High School, Tuba and Soccer Player. Well I have been telling my 7 & 5 year old about how you used to slide down my stairs after volleyball practice into the hallway, now they are doing it. I am so proud of you and how great you are doing! one more quick thing, my kids tell me to eat at Mickey's because you like it, funny what kids will do to get a toy!

Stacy: I am so proud of you for going after what you wanted even when you knew it was going to be one of the hardest things ever attempted in your life, and that you were likely the underdog. Like you said "Everything happens for a reason." My motto is the same, with an added "Do not fight life, just go with it and it will always work out, even if things are bad at the time." You were always an inspiration growing up, and seemingly are still a fire that ignites everyone else. Let your fire take you and your team all the way, because the talent is there. Remember what Eddie used to always tell us playing softball when we were little? - "Is it in your heart? Are you playing with all your heart, because that is what is going to take us all the way. That is what separates us from all these other girls. Play with all your heart, and go out there and play hard. No one can beat us if we do those two things, and if they do, we will have no regrets after the game." Go and play with all your heart and have NO regrets. Live your life that way from here on out. As an aside, my Dad still cringes when they think about how hyper we used to be together. We just found a few months ago the video of that goofy dance we made up for Eddie at state playoffs while in our hotel room, which we proceeded to perform at the end of season banquet. Nice... My Mom still has the shirts we painted with the "No-Smoking" sign on the back that we wore while dancing... There was really never any hope that either of us were going to be normal.
