<div>Week #5 Berlin, Germany</div>
</div>
Finish DNQ (did not qualify)<br />
<br />
Why no pictures??????&nbsp; Easy, we didn’t qualify so we were training our booties off all week.&nbsp; We were pretty devastated after being the #1 seed in the qualifier and not earning a main draw berth.&nbsp; We lost to a Brazilian team that came out of no where.&nbsp; They ended up taking a couple top 5 finishes as well a podium finish.&nbsp; This is the same team that in Russia beat Boss/Ross squashing their Olympic Dreams.&nbsp; It’s safe to say they blindsided us both.&nbsp; Stinking Brazil, how many gnarly teams do you have???<br />
<br />
Week #6 Paris, France<br />
Finish 2nd <br />
<br />
<div><img alt="" src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/vballphil/Family/volleyballdotcom/Picture019.jpg" align="right" border="0" height="262" width="350" /></div>
<div>There’s a shining light.&nbsp; After a pretty disappointing week, Rach and I bounced back.&nbsp; We decided to kick a little China booty.&nbsp; We beat China’s top team twice in this event capturing the Silver metal.&nbsp; Yes, this was our second one this season.&nbsp; Felt pretty good to improve from our bronze metal last year.&nbsp; I think it’s the white sand.&nbsp; It reminds me of my home in Florida minus the huge Eiffel Tower.&nbsp; </div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>
This event again demonstrated the athletic prowess of the USA women.&nbsp; We had an entire USA podium.&nbsp; Misty and Kerri with the gold, Rach and I with the silver, and Nicole and Ey with the bronze.&nbsp; We are friends as well as each others greatest competition.&nbsp; I truly believe we could bring home 3 metals in the Olympics if more than 2 teams could go.&nbsp;&nbsp; We currently have 4 women’s teams ranked in the top 7 in the world.&nbsp; It’s safe to say WE ROCK!&nbsp; </div>

<img longdesc="" alt="" src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/vballphil/Family/volleyballdotcom/norwayrussia023.jpg" align="right" border="0" height="262" width="350" />The tournament by the sea.&nbsp;&nbsp; This event is famous for its cold and rainy weather. It just so happens to be one of the main reasons our bags were so over packed.&nbsp; We had to be prepared with our beanies, sweats, jackets and tights.&nbsp; The only thing worse than playing beach volleyball in the freezing cold, is playing with out the proper gear.&nbsp; In the years past we have played with almost every bit of skin covered warming up by jogging up and down the training room halls.&nbsp; Of course Rach and I were all over the weather.com praying for some sunshine.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Not so much….&nbsp; As soon as the aircrafts doors opened, the cold air filled the cabin.&nbsp; It was horrible. Then as soon as we had collected our bags, the rain started.&nbsp; The skies were dark and we thought our good luck tournament weather was for sure over.&nbsp; Every event so far had been perfect.&nbsp; Amazingly enough, this year in Norway we were able to wear swimsuits.&nbsp; The first day of the qualifier had a tiny drizzle and then the rest of the days were filled with sunshine.&nbsp; Those weather people never know what they’re talking about…&nbsp; <br />
So basically we carried all that cold weather gear for nothing…<br />
<div>
</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>Also I had to pay an extra $348 bucks for my bag weighing over whatever stupid KLM’s weight is. I had to pay for every kilo it was over.&nbsp; I will never fly out of the star alliance again? This is why I’m a United girl.&nbsp; </div>

Finish # 9th <br />
<br />
Year to date this is my favorite FIVB stop.&nbsp; So much to do and a thousand different types of Spanish tapas to try.&nbsp; Rachel played indoor volleyball in Spain and spent a month in Barcelona so she had plenty of suggestions for food.&nbsp; My favorites were the Tortilla (Spanish omelet) and the seafood paella.&nbsp; I promise we were focused on volleyball, but hey, when you’re burning as many calories as we do you need to refuel.&nbsp; Why not re-charge with the local cuisine???&nbsp; Besides, you never want to try to eat American food while your over-seas.&nbsp; It never tastes like you want it to.&nbsp; It’s kinda like trying to find fresh Mexican food in south Florida.&nbsp; Don’t do it!!!!!&nbsp; <br />
&nbsp;<br />

<div>
Rach and I had a disappointing loss to fellow Americans Boss/Ross this tourney, 16-14 in the 3rd game.&nbsp; It was an epic battle as always.&nbsp; Both teams know each other so well and there’s always added emotion with the Olympics approaching and the number of events dwindling.&nbsp; We had our revenge the next event in Poland.&nbsp; We hammered them.&nbsp; This win improved our record to 3-3 against them this year.&nbsp; Crazy.&nbsp; Love those girls, but you never know who’s going to come out on top when we play.&nbsp; I’m sure if you were to ask each team would always say themselves, but the statistics this year say it’s a flip of a coin….</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div><img alt="" src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/vballphil/Family/volleyballdotcom/BarcelonaSpain016.jpg" align="right" border="0" height="240" width="320" /></div>

<div><img alt="" src="http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/vballphil/Family/volleyballdotcom/Poland018.jpg" align="left" border="0" height="320" width="240" /></div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>How did we manage to get ourselves in Stare Jablonki?&nbsp; Well, it’s more important and exciting to ask how did we get out of Stare Jablonki.&nbsp; We did the planes, trains, and automobile thing.&nbsp; I’m not a snob and normally travel pretty well, but this was a nightmare.&nbsp; Overnight trains were made for backpackers or people traveling with a light load.&nbsp; We were neither. </div>
<div>
Each of us came complete with a rolling suitcase, a computer bag, a duffle bag and a backpack.&nbsp; Remember, we had packed for 8 weeks.&nbsp; I think we managed to tick everyone off as we dragged our luggage down the narrow halls knocking into everyone and thing.&nbsp; Ahh, and at around 2:30am we had to switch trains and do it all again….</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
&nbsp;<br />
<br />
It was all worth it.&nbsp; I think we were on a natural high.&nbsp; Rachel and I had earned our first silver metal.&nbsp; Nothing was going to bring us down.&nbsp; I think we could have stayed up all night.&nbsp; Wait, we did!!!!!&nbsp; We played Ana Paula and Shelda in the final.&nbsp; Sure felt good to have another metal.&nbsp; I could get used to this…<br />
&nbsp;<br />
