I would like to start this blog by thanking my friends and teammates who dedicated their summer and lives to USA Volleyball and fell short of the 12 player roster heading to Beijing.  Without all the bodies in the gym, non of us nor USA Volleyball would be what or where we are today.

Making this team, and going to my third Olympics, could be the greatest thing that has happened to me in my 31 years.  It was a long, hard and bumpy road for all of us.  My happiness and joy was accompanied by sadness and hurt for my closest friends/teammates who will not be going.

I cried for the first time Olympians that will experience the Games for the first time.  I cried for the girls going back to college that were so close but will now use their talents to  win a National Championship.  I cried for Jen Joines who was in Colorado Springs for 2 weeks training, waiting, wondering and the only one who made the team that was not in Japan with us.

Last but not least, I cried for the girls training in Colorado Springs who sweat, bled, hurt, train and commit their lives to USA Volleyball and will not be able to experience the Olympics with us.  Though all these athletes will not be there with us physically, I can reassure yall that they will be with us in spirit.

Halo stacy: I apologize because my english is not very good, I live in Tijuana, Mexico, and I just saw the game against cuba, and i'm hapy to see you play again, I saw you the firt time play in 2004 vs. Republica Dominicana and I was so impresed, believe me, I don't know how to say it, like you have the capacity of transmit, or make others feel entusiastic, all of you the way you move your arms, your energy, thank you for the way you play, I don't care who wins the gold medal, but hopefully you can feel like your dreams are fulfilled, and I wish one day, Mexico could qualified for the olympics, take care.

Hello Stacy, I just got done watching the U.S. take on Japan. First set was wonderfully done second set not so much. Third set was a nail biter thank god for Berg coming in and help put it away. I was so stoked when you were put in in the fourth. I've been waiting four years to see you and Logan on my tv again. I am upset at the fact that you are not the starting Libero. To me you are the epitome of a Libero. I'm hoping to see you more in games to come. After all I'm only watching the Olympics for you and Logan. No pressure :) Bring home the Gold Syks!

I am director of Plano Sports Authority out of Plano, Texas and today, Saturday, August 9th, our volleyball program was having our end of season summer tournament. We have some 900 players ranging in age of 6 through High School competing in this tournament. On our TVs they were showing the USA vs Japan game. I just wanted to say what an inspiration you and Team USA are to these young athletes. The teams that weren't playing were all gathered around the TVs ooooing and awwwwing as they watched each serve, each pass, each hit. There was applause at the victories and such pride at seeing "our Texas girl" and her teammates win their match. Thank you Team USA for being such an inspiration and role models for these young girls. We look forward to and wish you the best of luck in your future matches. PS I think you might know Amber Woolsey-Spencer from Texas A & M. Amber is one of our coaches and tells some pretty good tales from her A & M days.

Stacy! This is Susan Williams from Burleson. I know you've heard it a million times, but I'm so proud of you! I have always maintained that you're the most incredible, natural athlete that I've ever been blessed to know, and I wish you nothing but blessings and wonderful things...in Beijing and in ALL your future endeavors. You're an inspiration to all of us other 31-year-olds who are struggling just to stay on a treadmill. Love you!
